Here comes Santa!

We took Jaxon to see Santa this morning at Crabtree Valley Mall. He was neither impressed or concerned. He did start to pucker up for a little fuss right at the end, after we'd taken several pictures. He's going again tonight with his aunt & uncle for more pictures with Santa.

Deck the halls

After skipping decorations last Christmas (bah humbug, I know, but we were okay with it), this year we dug everything back out. A lot of it was lost to mildew two years ago (we do not have a suitable spot for storing our decorations) so we had to get a few new things. I found cheap ($.99) stockings at Target and a matching ($5) tree skirt. I actually like the felt tree skirt, it lays nice & I don't have to stress if the cat scratches it up. I had already bought the doggies & kitty new stockings at the dollar store last year after Christmas so we still had those. It's really not obvious here, but we have two kinds of white lights on the tree. There were two strands of standard white lights left in our stash and we updated with two new strands of LED (energy-saving!) white lights. The LED ones are actually a blueish white (and BRIGHT, don't stare right at them) while the old fashioned ones are more of a yellow. And this is the first time we've had a real tree! I think we're both happier with this choice.

Help local animals

Vote for a shelter to win $100,000! I voted for SAFE HAVEN FOR CATS, which is where we got our kitty Thumbtack. They are a NO-KILL shelter in North Raleigh and were #2 on the results list for NC when I voted.

Still here

I've totally dropped the ball on blogging yet again. I have tons of pics & updates from the last couple of weeks (birthdays, thanksgiving, baby shower & more) that I need to get to.. soon I promise.
